Banyan Tree Books

Banyan Tree Books
India, worlds cordially accepted spiritual guru, an oldest continuous civilization, land of some greatest minds, have also inherited wonderful literary masterpieces, from thoughtful spiritual quest books to enchanting hymns of Vedas and from local mythical stories to huge epics.
As a publisher it’s a great legacy to follow and Banyan Tree Books is our gracious effort to brush up our deep-rooted lingual variety and cultural treasures even more. We feel the need of giving India’s litteartur a helping gesture and flaunt its glory all over. Our effort here is to use English language for this literary journey, since modern English has been our window to the world. This is also to vaporize our regional masterpieces in English. In this house we shall attempt to get at least three great books of Hindi and other languages translated into English because our aim is to value literature of every language and provide it for all.
The task of getting our literary pearls publish into English by publishing houses in England or America becomes insurmountable as they are not aware of the original text. To add this explanation journey bit more severity with arrogance of such publishers, wherein they tend to decide fate of books and label them what is good and what is not. Many of European languages surprisingly, are also suffering the same intricacy; so this could be a fresh new breath for English work not only for English in original but works translated form from other language masterpieces. We will provide all European literary geniuses in English who were limited to their respective languages and still shining like stars, there are limitless world beyond English writing and it needed to be translated into English to make this language more colorful. Banyan Tree Book will respect them with sincerity and will enter in grand manner with some great works from all over. Not to forget that it has a backing of Rajkamal Prakashan Group, a house of literary excellence and richness from 1947.
Banyan Tree Books launched its first publication ‘Honour Bound’ noted Irish authour Lara Harte on 23rd April 2007 in Dublin, Ireland, celebrating Irish rebellion against British rule. The book was launched at famous Writers’ Centre in Dublin and was presided over by Mr. Pat Rabbitte, leader of Labour Party in Ireland.

Lokbharti Prakashan

Lokbharti Prakashan
Lokbharti Prakashan was established in 1954, the period was after independence transformation where Allahabad’s literary-cultural sphere was going through rough phase; more because regardless of grand success of Parimal and Nai Kavita, young poets were still looking towards Delhi and Mumbai literary sky.
In that phase Lokbharti stood firm and carried forward not only the legacy of bharti-Bhandar and Bhargava Press but kept intact all prominent Chayavadi and Nai Kavita writers of that time. Great Niralaji, Pantji, all shown faith in Lokbharti Prakashan to publish their most valuable works. Mathili Sharan Gupta, Mahadevi Verma, Yashpal, Ram Swaroop Chaturvedi, Ila Chandra Joshi, Sri Naresh Mehta, all were associated and trusted Lokbharti Prakashan.
Even later age great writers like Bhairava Prasad Gupt, Markandeya, Dudhnath Singh, Ravindra Kaliya and Mamata Kalia were among Lokbharti Prakashan’s notable writers.
Lokbharti Prakashan always served for best of Hindi literature without even forgetting its social responsibilities; as publisher they always have given an anchoring hand to some great thinker-writers. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia’s whole literary works and every work on his life is published with Lokbharti Prakashan, it is a great privilege in itself.
Works of Kabir, Sur, Tulsi, Nanak, Bihari of Hindi Bhakti Kal and Reeti Kal are published with Lokbharti, among all Dr. Kishori Lal Gupta’s edited and compiled ‘Sampoorn Sur Sagar’ and Hindi-English complete ‘Ramcharitmanas’ is most commendable.
Lokabharti, recently came out with a series of great writers like Jai Shankar Prasad, Mahadevi Verma, Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’, Yahspal’s combined work in form of Sampoorna-Sahitya. Yashpal’s ‘Sampoorna Sahitya’ in 14 volumes is most privileged series of Lokbharti Prakashan.
With that, Lokbharti also took utmost interest in Hindi as a language by publishing some great dictionaries and grammar books. Late Ramchandra Verma, Professor Hardev Bahri, Dr. Badrinath Kapoor like linguists have given some rare Hindi dictionaries and Hindi grammar books for Lokbharti Prakashan that can make any publishing house proud. Hindi and German linguist professor Helmut’s ‘Hindi Kriya Kosha’ is some great work in this series.
Lokbharti merged with Hindi publication world’s most reputed group Rajkamal Prakashan in September 2005 and now moving forward successfully under capable guidance of its new and young Managing Director Mr. Amod Maheshwari.
Lokbharti Prakashan. Best hopes for new leadership of this organisation; with Rajkamal Prakashan and Radhakrishan Prakashan this house will keep its decade old reputation shinning and touch new sky of success.
